Clive’s set to move to Dartmouth

Posted - 2nd September 2019

Following our successful national launch in Waitrose last year and huge rise in demand for Clive’s plant-based and gluten–free pies, tarts and nut roasts, the team at Clive’s have purchased their first premises at Nelson Road, Dartmouth.

Clive’s, a family-owned organic vegan bakery have been hand making and supplying their delicious fare to health food shops locally and nationally for many years. Clive’s are particularly proud of their Soil Association organic accreditation and three decades of pie making experience, starting with Clive himself.

The business is run by a small team, Sally Carson, Managing Director who said ‘Hamlyn House and the people of Buckfastleigh have been very kind to us for three decades but we are in desperate need of more space. Finding a big enough bakery was a challenge so we had to cast our net wider and were very fortunate to find this new home.’

The move will bring a disused factory back to life, give Clive’s the space and security they need to grow and will create new jobs in Dartmouth. A programme of extensive refurbishment will now take place and Clive’s will make the move over the winter.

Many of the existing Clive’s team will travel to Dartmouth but the expansion will bring additional permanent jobs too such as Production and Technical Management, Quality Assurance, Bakers and Chefs as well as production and kitchen assistants. New team members will be working in Buckfastleigh initially followed by a move in the winter to Dartmouth, with travel incentives in place to help make the transition.
